The Race Will Support:

Your support of the NFB DOT DASH will fund our efforts to eliminate the Braille literacy crisis that currently exists in the United States. Braille is a tactile code of dots on a page that blind people use to read and write effectively. Yet, only ten percent of blind children are receiving instruction in Braille in the public schools. Additionally, there are not enough programs to teach Braille to blind adults. The NFB DOT DASH is one means of ensuring that we do not leave these blind people behind. Come help us get every blind person to the literacy finish line!

Driving Directions to Race Site:
The NFB is located approximately twenty blocks south of downtown Baltimore in a section of the city known as South Baltimore. It is bordered by Johnson Street on the east, Wells Street on the south, Byrd Street on the west, and Barney Street on the north. Both Wells and Barney dead-end at Riverside Park, which is directly across Johnson Street, east of the Center. The NFB is very close to Interstate 95, the nearest exit/entrance ramp being only about six blocks southwest of the Center on Hanover Street. In 2007, the NFB opened its new, fully accessible entrance on Wells Street; the door on Johnson Street is no longer in use.

There will be a video camera at the finish line recording the race finish for viewing after the event. A link with live results throughout the race will also be available.
